This summer is flying by with less than a month to go! We would like to remind everyone to continue to check and accept your schedules online and notify your staffer immediately if you have any scheduling conflicts.

Just keep Swimming…..You’ve spent most of your summer at the pool and know how popular swimming is. Here are some interesting facts you may not know:

  • Swimming dates back thousands of years. Egyptian artifacts have been found that are estimated to be from 4000 BC with drawings of the front crawl.
  • Swimming was first introduced in to the Olympics held in Athens in 1896
  • Swimming is a fantastic zero impact sport that can works out all the parts of your body
  • Swimming on a regular basis helps tone muscles, improves flexibility, helps with weight loss, and lowers risk of diabetes and many other health benefits.
  • An hour of swimming can burn up to 650 calories, almost the same amount as biking for an hour.
  • Swimming is very relaxing and has been compared to yoga and meditation in terms of its soothing effect on the mind and body.
